Havanna, Cuba

“Kindness and compassion towards all living things is a mark of a civilized society. Conversely, cruelty, whether it is directed against human beings or against animals, is not the exclusive province of any one culture or community of people.”
-Cesar Chavez

Barbara Goodbody, Havanna, Cuba Series, 2003, silver prints made with a plastic camera

In 2003, Barbara along with a group of fellow artists and art aficionados visited Cuba on a trip sponsored by the Center for Maine Contemporary. The group visited the island for a week of tours, studio visits, and exhibits. Barbara created a series of 7 photographs with a Holga camera that gives these images their distinct look of faded beauty. The portfolio is an edition of 2 and images are available in two sizes; 5.5 x 4 inches and 7 x 5 inches.
